the last time you hung up on someone:
~day before yesterday.on a woman who was trying to get me to register for a matrimonial service.i know its mean to hang up on someone, but come on i was in a lecture.

the last time someone hung up on you:
~i dont let people hang up on me.i blackmail,i plead,i shout,i do these weird things.you see im quite a phone-person :)

Reasons..

Reasons why i believe that Junior college was nicer and simpler than senior college:
~ Everyone smiled at everyone, said hello and didnt look harrowed and close to tears, even on the day of exams!
~People discussed civilized enjoyable topics like the weird pink shrug some XYZ girl wore and who got chucked out in Hindi Tutorials as compared to now where people feverishly jabber about how long each answer has to be in the psycho paper!
~People didnt badger you by asking HOW many honours programmes you've signed up for and didnt go all narrow-eyed and shriek "ONE CREDIT?!THATS IT!!!???"
~There were no seminars,no research papers,no seperate attendance for each subject and NO 8a.m. lectures!
~ALL MY FRIENDS WERE IN MY GODDAMN CLASS..!!!
~French classes were fun,laid-back and not friggin drill sessions with people yelling "Madame Trente-six..Madame,i missed my attendance..Desole..je suis..arrgghhh"
~Projects mean loads of MMR lectures where people cheered and smiled and we watched movies every opportunity we could.
~We were still the kids..
~We still had 3 full years to go in college..time flies..*sigh*
~we knew exam marks would be okay..if not great..NOW..well..no comments.
~I didnt even have to make a library card..now i have to actually USE it..
~we had textbooks that catered to our needs..now,text books are for light-reading.. or you might have these manic children breathe down you r necks hissing," didn't you refer H.L.Ahuja..are you joking..the text book is bullshit..i did Ahuja thrice" yeah..THANK YOU.
~there is no misery-in-company coz all my friends have different subjects.
~Different subjects means hardly any co-ordinated studying..man,i actually have to make my own study schedule.
~SIP..SIP..its the bloody bane of my life..how much social service can an average 18 year old do..JUST TELL ME...i hope to the heavens above that, the dude who decides whether you go to heaven or hell when you die,is watching this..coz this social service had messed up my social life.

thats it for now, will crib more later.Merci beaucoup!

to B or not to B

i was fooling around with a friend on the phone and she was reading some we-reveal-your-future type horoscope and she said my lucky alphabet is B! i wonder why,but owing to immense boredom and zero inclination to study,i sat and listed all the stuff from B that matters to me..
it rambles off too much midway..my apologies!

~banana boat (thats the name of the sunscreen i use)
~Bumblebee..
~Blue!(both the colour and the band!)
~Braces!(i meant the teeth ones!)
~Billybob
~Bangles(both the accessories and the band!)
~Batatoes..thats what one girl said for batata+potatoes
~Bass kya!
~Bob the builder
~brown girl in the ring
~BASH!

~Better Together!
~Bijuri(Ashi..tu samajh gayi na)

~Bungee Jumping!
~Blaaaaaah!
~Biryani

well, thats about you.i told you.the matter's dangerous to the sanity of most.
but since i associate with the ones who aren't included in 'most'..i guess im safe.love all of you.

you pick..

can i call you?
i realised you hung up,
and not nicely too.
will you speak to me,
if i say i wont argue?
we can talk about anything you like.
i wont snort,if i think its too mundane,
i wont groan if i can't understand..

will you walk with me?
we dont have to go somewhere pretty..
we dont have to go somewhere nice
i wont walk too fast,
i wont get distracted,
and i promise not to wave at random people on the road.

can we sit on the porch together?
i wont keep cutting across what you're saying..
i wont tap my feet impatiently..
we can just be,
silent if you feel like it..
and if you want,
i'll keep my opinions to myself, for once..

feel like an icecream?
i promise not too get all giggly,
and i wont laugh too loud,if you spill..
we can just walk through,
and if it melts,
and that made you smile,
i wont pull a face and ask why.

we can have a mean game of squash,
and if i lose,i wont get angry,
and if i win,i wont rub it in,
we can just be ourselves,
and if it gets too much,
there's always chess :)

but can i ask you once?
after all this, will you still like me?
because,if i do become such a good girl,
i wont be myself..

thats what made me happy..

apologies for sounding self-obsessed in the post below..but yes books make me happy..so i am just gonna ramble about the books i love and treasure..

1.Kite Runner: Khaled Hosseini spins magic with this one..hit me as hard as it could have. brilliant, moving, exceptional use of language. Its never ceases to amaze me how he described Baba so perfectly.everyone actually, but i was in awe of Baba by the end.truly,"you cant love some people, without hating them a bit."

2.To kill a mockingbird:This book is life-changing..at the end of it,you just go down on your knees and thank God,if he is listening, for Atticus.

3.Anne of the Green Gables:People found it syrupy,i loved it..very imaginative,very earnest!

4.The God of Small Things: not so much for the plot, more for the rambling..and it also helps that she is curly haired :)

5.Not without my daughter: Brillliant brilliant brilliant book.and there comes a point when you're like..i couldnt get safer than this!!

6.Can you keep a secret?:Kinsella is chick-lit galore..loved this one..quick read.good laugh

7.To sir with love: You probably missed it on the book shelf, but this one's totally worth a read..

8.Five point someone: who doesnt like this one?!i like Ryan the best though..pretend-tough eh?

9.Interpreter of Maladies: Jhumpa Lahiri at her best, liked this better than Namesake.

10.A fine balance: Tragic. But sad stories make brilliant books.this one couldnt have brought out the statement better.one of my favourites.Mistry makes you think, and HOW!

11.O Henry short stories: i loveddddddd them!!!!!!

12.Animal Farm: Clever.very very very clever.

13.James Herriot Series: by the end you'll love animals.or atleast reading about them.no pretences.no hang ups.just a whole lot of 'feel-good' happening.'Coz in the end,he sets it all right!

14.The flying chair series:Enid Blyton should be honoured the world over for making children believe that magic exists..you just have to look hard and in the right places. Clue:if you walk around looking at shoes..chances are you wont find magic, and might get your skull cracked by being run over by a truck.

15.Windmills of the Gods:Sidney Sheldon's best,in my opinion.Nothing lasts forever came very very close, but this on is very well written.no loopholes,as far as i looked.

16.Princess Diaries: chick-lit again..but i loved this as well..its a good thing,to read chick-lit once in a while.

17.Catcher in the Rye: builds such a nice picture, and i love books that dont have plotS!

18.HARRY POTTER!: wokay,i love harry potter and those who don't..HOW!?!!!!!!*falls in shock, like petrificus totalus!*

many others, which i will add eventually..as of now.. sleep beckons..
so now..good night.keep safe.and dont worry.the world wont end between now and tomorrow.so worry tomorrow.sleep well :)
